European Union Delivery Policy
European Orders Policy (Post-Brexit Shipping) – Beautiwala Ltd

Following the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union, customs, import VAT, and clearance regulations apply to all orders shipped from the UK to EU countries.
Beautiwala Ltd is a UK-based business and is currently not VAT registered. Therefore, VAT is not charged by Beautiwala Ltd at checkout for international orders unless otherwise stated.
By placing an international or European order with Beautiwala Ltd, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Brexit & EU Shipping Overview
Since 1 January 2021, the United Kingdom is no longer part of the EU Single Market or Customs Union.
As a result:
- EU orders are treated as international imports
- Customs clearance may be required
- Import VAT, customs duties, and courier handling fees may apply upon arrival
These charges are determined and collected by the destination country and local customs authorities, not by Beautiwala Ltd.
2. VAT, Customs Duties & Import Charges
Will I be charged VAT or customs fees?
Possibly, yes.
As Beautiwala Ltd is not VAT registered, VAT is generally not charged by us during checkout for EU orders.
However, your local customs authority or courier may charge:
- Import VAT
- Customs duties
- Clearance or administration fees
These charges depend on:
- The destination country
- Order value
- Local import regulations
Any import charges are the sole responsibility of the customer.
3. Additional Courier Charges
Couriers such as DHL, UPS, Royal Mail partners, or local delivery companies may apply:
- Handling fees
- Customs clearance fees
- Administration charges
Beautiwala Ltd has no control over these fees and cannot estimate or reimburse them.
4. Country-Specific Import Restrictions
Certain EU countries may restrict or limit the import of:
- Cosmetics
- Hair products
- Personal care items
- Beauty accessories
Customers must check their local import laws before ordering.
Examples only (subject to change):
- Spain: Cosmetics may not be permitted for private individuals
- Italy: Quantity limits may apply
- Portugal: Personal-use restrictions may apply
- Greece: Import quantity limits may apply
Failure to comply with local regulations may result in delayed, refused, or returned shipments.
5. Returned, Refused, or Seized Orders
If an order is:
- Refused by the customer
- Returned due to unpaid import charges
- Rejected by customs authorities
- Seized or destroyed by customs
Then:
- Shipping costs are non-refundable
- Customs or return fees may be deducted from any eligible refund
- Refunds are issued only after returned goods are received and inspected
If goods are seized or destroyed by customs authorities, no refund will be issued.
6. Payment of Import Charges
Where applicable, the courier may contact you before delivery to request payment of:
- Import VAT
- Customs duties
- Handling or clearance fees
You may receive payment instructions by email, SMS, or courier tracking portal.
Failure to pay these charges may result in the parcel being returned or abandoned.
Customers are responsible for ensuring their contact details are accurate at checkout.
7. Responsibility for Customs Charges
All import VAT, customs duties, taxes, and courier fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Beautiwala Ltd:
- Is not responsible for customs charges
- Cannot predict import fees
- Cannot reimburse customs or VAT charges
- Has no control over customs processing decisions
8. Delivery Services to Europe
EU Deliveries
Available shipping services may include:
DHL Economy
Estimated delivery: 3–10 business days
DHL Express
Estimated delivery: 2–5 business days
Non-EU International Deliveries
DHL Express
Estimated delivery: 2–7 business days

9. Delivery Delays
International shipments may experience delays due to:
- Customs inspections
- Brexit border procedures
- Local import checks
- Courier operational delays
- Public holidays or external factors
Beautiwala Ltd is not liable for delays occurring after dispatch.
10. Delivery Costs
International shipping costs are:
- Calculated automatically at checkout
- Based on parcel weight, dimensions, destination, and selected service
11. Are VAT & Customs Charges Included?
No.
Delivery charges paid at checkout do not include:
- Import VAT
- Customs duties
- Clearance fees
- Local handling charges
These costs must be paid separately by the customer if requested by customs or the courier.
12. Acceptance of International Shipping Terms
By placing an international or European order, you confirm that you:
- Understand your order may be subject to customs clearance
- Accept responsibility for import taxes and charges
- Understand Beautiwala Ltd is not VAT registered
- Accept country-specific import regulations and restrictions
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not place an international order.
